A little about who I am and what I care about.
I’m Bert — husband, father, Pappy, and someone who has always enjoyed figuring out how things work. Whether it’s technology, cars, home projects, or systems that need a bit of untangling, I tend to dive in, learn, break, fix, and eventually understand.
Professionally, I’ve spent years working in IT, systems administration, Microsoft 365, automation, and infrastructure. Personally, I appreciate simplicity, transparency, and building things that make life easier for the people around me.
This site is my personal corner of the internet — a place to keep notes, write about things I’m working on, and document ideas I don’t want to lose. Some posts are technical, some are reflective, and some are reminders to my future self.
It isn’t meant to be polished or formal. Just honest, useful, and occasionally interesting.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, keeping the home network running smoothly, and tinkering with projects that inevitably turn into bigger projects. I like learning new tools, exploring big-picture ideas, and having good conversations along the way.
